Fair Usage Policy

Applies to hosting, web design, WordPress maintenance and drone media services.

We keep our services generous and our pricing simple. This policy explains what’s reasonable, so every client gets fast, reliable service. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

1. Web Hosting

Our hosting (£20 per month, with the first year included for new websites) runs on shared UK servers powered by 100% renewable energy. Resources are shared, so fair use keeps every site fast.

Fair use includes

  • Hosting your organisation’s website, with storage and bandwidth that suit its purpose.
  • Business email accounts for you and your team.
  • Normal traffic growth — busy periods and successful campaigns are welcome.

Not fair use

  • Hosting several unrelated businesses or websites on one plan without agreement.
  • Using hosting as general file storage, a backup service or a file-sharing platform.
  • Bulk or unsolicited email, or using our servers as a mail relay.
  • Scripts, crawlers or processes that consistently slow the server down for other clients.
  • Illegal, infringing or harmful content, or anything that puts other clients at risk.

2. Web Design

Every build is delivered to the scope, page count and revision rounds set out in your quotation.

Fair use includes

  • The revision rounds agreed in your quotation.
  • Reasonable adjustments to agreed pages during the build.

Not fair use

  • Full redesigns or new directions after a design has been approved.
  • New sections, sites or features not included in the agreed scope.

Extra work is always welcome — it will simply be quoted and agreed before we start. Additional pages start from £30.

3. WordPress Maintenance and Support

Maintenance (£30 per month) covers updates, security checks, backups, uptime monitoring and small content changes.

Fair use includes

  • Small text and image changes and minor design tweaks each month.
  • Fixing broken features or layout issues on your site.
  • Help and guidance using WordPress, by phone or email during normal hours.

Not fair use

  • Daily or constant non-urgent change requests.
  • New pages, features or redesigns — these are quoted separately.
  • Support for third-party systems we don’t manage.
  • Out-of-hours emergency requests for non-emergency issues.

A genuine emergency is your site being down, hacked, or unable to take payments or enquiries. We’ll always prioritise these.

4. Drone Photography and Video

Fair use includes

  • Trimming, colour correction and sequencing of your footage.
  • Up to two rounds of edits per standard shoot.
  • Exports in standard formats for your website and social media.

Not fair use

  • Repeated re-edits beyond the agreed brief.
  • Complex effects or cinematic production not included in your quotation.
  • Raw, unedited footage, unless agreed in advance.

Extra editing time is available and will be quoted before we start.

5. If Usage Goes Beyond Fair Use

  • Everyday overuse (for example storage, change requests or edits): we’ll get in touch, explain what we’ve noticed and talk through options — often a small adjustment, or a tailored plan if your needs have grown. We won’t restrict your service without that conversation first.
  • Security or abuse (for example a hacked site, malware, spam or illegal content): we may suspend the affected site immediately to protect you and other clients, then contact you straight away to put it right.

6. Questions
